Losing weight is not easy. Most of the ads that you see on the Internet, which claim that you can lose (insert whatever number you like) pounds within 7 days, or you can eat whatever you want and still lose weight are either scams or programs that may give you QUICK results but may harm your health.

The Journey

The truth is that there are no shortcuts to becoming healthy and physically fit. Instead, there is a journey—a long, difficult road to be exact—that you need to take if you want to shape up the right, healthy way. And you will need to exert a lot of hard work, discipline, and commitment if you want to successfully complete the fitness journey and achieve your weight loss goals.
However, the good news is that no matter how difficult and impossible it may seem getting in shape is

possible and highly achievable. Yes, you can lose weight or gain muscle if you just put your heart and mind into it.

But you need to prepare yourself because you will face a lot of obstacles. Your friends and even your family may discourage you. You will also face a certain point wherein you will feel burned-out and will consider quitting. But if you just ignore these obstacles and push yourself to keep going on, then you will surely achieve your fitness goals.

WHY?
But why should you get in shape? Why should you start a weight loss journey that will ask you to leave your comfort zone?
The answer is very simple: your HEALTH.
 
Always keep in mind that becoming physically fit is not a race. It’s a marathon. It doesn’t matter who gets to the finish line first. What’s important is that you’ve run and that you’ve finished it.
Moreover, always remember that RESULTS vary from one person to another. Each of us is unique and our bodies may react differently. Some may experience fast weight loss or muscle gain, while others may take a longer time to achieve the same results.
If your health is your primary motivation of why you want to get in shape, then you are more likely to SUCCEED. It’s because you do not get upset even if you do not see BIG changes every time you look at yourself in the mirror.
When you start a fitness program, your health improves dramatically. Your heart and lungs will function more efficiently and your risk of acquiring osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes and certain types of cancer will lower down significantly. And that’s not the end of it. You will also feel more energetic and happy. Even your sex life will improve. And of course, if you continue on following a good fitness program, you will eventually reap aesthetic benefits in the long run. You will gain muscle and get that washboard abs you’ve been dreaming of, or those curves that you’ve been dying to have.

WARNING!
You are likely to get discouraged if you do not see BIG, quick results. This, in turn, will cause you to become frustrated, leading you to think of quitting. However, just like any worthwhile thing in life, trying to lose weight and getting in shape may take time. In my case, it took me almost a year before I saw “significant” results in my body.
STAY FOCUSED ON THE JOURNEY!
